Rachel Knottley BSc (Hons)
Biology Reporting Manager
Rachel has been a Forensic Scientist since 1998 and has experience of a broad range of cases ranging from assaults, rapes, child abuse, kidnapping to complex murders, and involving a wide range of forensic disciplines such as Gun Shot Residues (GSR), firearms, fingerprints, toxicology, drugs, footwear and particulates.
Rachel is the Sexual Offence Delivery Manager at the Coventry Site and she is the main contact for the pre-submission advice that is used extensively by officers and scientific support.
Her areas of expertise are: interpretation of DNA profiling results including mixtures; identification, interpretation and evaluation of all body fluid types; Blood Pattern Analysis (BPA). Rachel regularly attends courts of law, providing expert witness testimony, case conferences with barristers and reviewing other scientist’s reports.
