RapidHIT technology proves Man shot by US Police is a Murderer
RapidHIT DNA technology has successfully matched Dillan Tabares, who was fatally shot by Orange County Police, to the brutal murder of 80-year-old member of the public.
The slain suspect had blood on his clothing that was immediately analysed using RapidHIT and associated him with the brutal beating to death of the elderly man which occurred three days prior.
Police officers who attended the scene of the murdered man described it as one of the most brutal deaths they had seen in their careers.
During the investigation, detectives had found a connection between Dillan Tabares and the victim. Tabares had been offered help and shelter by the victim after sleeping rough.
Tabares beat his victim to death five days after being released from prison early.
This case is proof that rapid DNA testing plays a vital role in investigating crime and revolutionising the practices of processing forensic evidence. Using the RapidHIT rapid DNA testing instrument developed by IntegenX Inc., Orange County Police were able to prove that the victim of the fatal police shooting was not in fact an innocent person but a murderer.
