Questioned Documents Team helps Trading Standards

Key Forensic helps Trading Standards to Secure a Conviction

Key Forensics’ Questioned Documents team has played a critical role in helping Trading Standards officers to bring about the conviction of Keith Matthews, who was featured on the Rogue Traders TV show for operating his TV aerial repair business fraudulently. He was caught faking unnecessary work - even pouring a drink over an aerial socket to claim there was a leaky roof.

After he featured on the show, Leicestershire Trading Standards began an investigation and he was again caught on hidden cameras duping customers.

58-year-old Matthews is currently on the run and did not turn up to his trial. He was, however, found guilty of 13 counts of fraud and fraudulent trading at Leicester Crown Court and sentenced in his absence to 3 years’ imprisonment.
