Major Expansion of our Accredited Toxicology Services

Almost one year ago KFS invested significantly in developing its toxicology services and we are proud to announce that we are now accredited to process Road Traffic Section 5a (covering all 17 specified limits) and Section 4 (03TOX and 21TOX product specification) submissions. In addition to this we have achieved accreditation for some of the drugs specified within the 04TOX & 22TOX products respectively.

This follows an intensive period of method development and pre-assessment work undertaken by the toxicology team, based in Warrington.

The Warrington team was formed in early 2014, with the appointment of Marcus Donohue as Head of Toxicology. Marcus was able to hand-pick a team of experienced toxicologists to support him in further developing the toxicology services and to manage the process of achieving UKAS accreditation.

To create this service Marcus was given a blank sheet of paper. Not only did he need to form a brand new team, but the toxicology laboratory in Warrington had to be configured and equipped from scratch; a challenging task in itself. As a result the laboratory now boasts a range of state-of-the-art equipment.

This exciting service development adds significantly to KFS’s portfolio of forensic services, further enhancing our position as a one-stop provider of forensic analytical services.
