The Future of Rapid DNA Profiling - GCC Forensic Science Conference
During our participation in the GCC Forensic Science Conference in Abu Dhabi next week, our Group Managing Director, Paul Hackett, will be delivering a presentation on the rapidly changing landscape for the provision and use of RAPID DNA profiling in the criminal justice system, border control, DVI, national identity schemes and relationship testing.
We have been instrumental in the accreditation and implementation of revolutionary RAPID DNA technology in the UK which allows a DNA STR profile to be produced in under 90 minutes in comparison to the days and weeks it currently takes using laboratory-based processing
Paul will be sharing KFS’s experiences, providing an insight into the journey of the RapidHIT DNA technology from its infancy through to how it is being used today after receiving ISO17025 accreditation.
The innovative ‘RapidHIT’ technology, developed by IntegenX, can easily be operated in a non-laboratory environment, only requiring a power supply and a very short training period for operators.
We will describe how the technology has been deployed in the field, in a vehicle or in an office environment
The impact of rapid DNA profiling will transform forensic science as we know it today. The way in which Law Enforcement Agencies operate across the world is being revolutionised as we speak, reducing time during investigations, exonerating suspects more quickly and helping to tackle crime through national DNA databases.
