Jayne is an expert in Human Contact traces (Blood, Body Fluids, Hairs and Blood Pattern Analysis) and has been a forensic scientist since May 2000 during which time she has examined many hundreds of items for the presence of blood, semen, saliva, fibres, hairs and other contact traces. She has attended numerous crime scenes as an examiner.
Her areas of expertise are: interpretation of current DNA techniques, including mixtures and low template DNA (Low Copy Number, LCN); identification of body fluids, including blood, semen, saliva, urine and faeces; Blood Pattern Analysis (BPA) –in the lab, including firearms cases; and the identification of hairs.
